Celebrating 25 years!

The Farandol Folkdancers enjoy dances from a variety of countries but specialise in those from the Balkan region. They meet 7:30pm until 9:30pm Fridays (except public holidays). First visit free, thereafter $2.00. Earlier part of evening suitable for beginners.

Israeli Dance

Israeli Folk Dancing is ideal for improving one's general well-being!  It is good exercise for physical fitness and pleasurable, because of the lovely music and learning to move with it. Courses at the Canterbury WEAOff-site. Contact the WEA - phone (03)366-0285 to enrol or to find out more information.

Contra Dance

Christchurch Monthly Contra Dance (American folk dance) held first Saturday of each month. All welcome.

Cost: $10 adults who can afford it, others $5. Please bring your own water bottle.

Nor'West Arch Morris

Nor'west Arch Morris Dancers are a Christchurch (NZ) based morris dancing side focusing on dances from the North West of England and the English/Welsh border region. We are a mixed side who practise weekly in preparation for performances at various venues in Christchurch and the Canterbury Region. Interested dancers (and musicians) are welcome on any practice evening, come along and try out our dances, no cost involved and no partners required. Canterbury Historical Dance

From the robust branles of the Renaissance to the vivacious quadrilles of the Victorian grand balls - no matter what we dance, we do it for fun!

Canterbury Historical Dance exists to promote the enjoyment of and participation in recreated social dancing from throughout history.

When: Practices are held fortnightly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month between 7:00 and 8:30pm, March through to November. 

Cost: $5.00 per dancer, no experience necessary
